The event for two-year-olds will cover six furlongs and include names like Blue Gator, Eagle Orb, Lookin for Trouble, and Storm Shooter among the field of seven.

Here is a look at the top runners set for the Notebook Stakes.

Betting Preview: Blue Gator, Eagle Orb

The morning-line favorite coming in at 2/1 is Three Diamonds Farm’s Blue Gator. The Liam’s Map colt is trained by Michael Maker.

He has a career record of 2-0-0 from two starts and earnings of $159,445.

Those victories came in the Oct. 26 New York Breeders’ Futurity (Black Type) a Finger Lakes last time out and a Sept. 25 maiden special weight race at Belmont Park.

Blue Gator will break from the outside Post 7 under jockey Kendrick Carmouche.

He will be going up against the 3/1 Eagle Orb, owned by E V Racing Stable. The Orb colt is trained by Rudy Rodriguez.

He is 1-2-0 from four career starts with earnings of $98,100.

The colt’s most-recent race was a runner-up effort in the Oct. 24 Sleepy Hollow Stakes (Black Type) at Belmont Park, which followed a fifth-place finish in the Oct. 2 Bertram F. Bongard Stakes (Black Type) at the track. He took second in the Sept. 4 Funny Cide Stakes (Black Type) and won an Aug. 21 maiden special weight race at Saratoga.

Eagle Orb will break from Post 4 under rider Manuel Franco.

Betting Preview: Lookin for Trouble, Storm Shooter

Another runner to pay attention to is William Butler’s Lookin for Trouble, coming in at 4/1. The Into Mischief colt is trained by Michael Maker.

He has a career record of 1-1-1 from four starts and earnings of $75,280.

He is coming off a second-place finish in the Oct. 2 Bertram F. Bongard Stakes (Black Type) at Belmont Park, which followed a third-place effort in the Funny Cide. The colt’s victory came in an Aug. 7 maiden special weight race at Saratoga.

Lookin for Trouble will break from Post 6 under Irad Ortiz, Jr.

Also among the field will be the 6/1 Storm Shooter, owned by MyRaceHorse Stable. Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher trains the son of Twirling Candy.

He is 1-0-1 from two career starts with earnings of $44,740.

He scored a maiden special weight race last time out on Oct. 29 at Belmont. His other performance was a third-place finish in a Sept. 25 maiden special weight race at the track.

Storm Shooter will break from Post 1 under Jose Ortiz.

The rest of the field (post, morning line) is set to include: Market Alert (Post 2, 10/1), Half Right (Post 3, 8/1), and Horn of Plenty (Post 5, 6/1).

Free Betting Pick

The 3/1 Eagle Orb looks like an excellent choice to take against the favorite Blue Gator in this one. He is coming off an impressive runner-up performance, and Blue Gator could be limited by the outside post.
